Bring the bikes and the family (no kids under 11) to Ride the Sauk, May 12, and stay at the nearby and affordable Motel 6 Chicago Hotel at Tinley Park!

The Sauk is a wonderful nature trail that winds in and out of the Palos Woods, the largest nature preserve in the over 100,000 acres in the Chicagoland nature preserve system. Ride the Sauk is a free, family 10-mile group bike ride and festival hosted by the Village of Richton Park.

The event is open to individual riders that are at least 11 years of age. In addition to bringing your own bikes, all riders are urged to wear safety helmets and to bring drinking water. Pre-registered riders will be able to check in at 10:30 a.m. at the event. The first 100 pre-registered riders to check in will receive a free T-shirt. (Please note that size choice is not guaranteed.)

All bike riders must set out on the route by 11a.m. Riders will head East on Sauk Trail to Main Street then connecting to the Old Plank Trail which will run Riders to Central Ave, where they will return to the starting point at the Richton Walmart. Additional family-friendly festivities, including music, food and face painting will continue in the Walmart parking lot after the ride.
